Last updated: 2026. This is a plain-language summary of what LeagueWinner stores and why.

What we store

Account: your display name, email address, and a hashed password. The email is used only to sign you in (and, later, for password resets and any alerts you opt into).
What you post: threads, comments, and votes, shown publicly under your display name.
Your team and alerts: the players you add and the alert rules you set. Your team is public unless you switch it to private.
League Winner: your pick and your bracket votes. Picks are shown in aggregate (“12 people picked X”); if your pick wins, your name is listed among the people who called it and you get a badge.
A session cookie so you stay signed in. No advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
Short-lived abuse counters: how many sign-in, sign-up, and password-reset attempts came from an email address or IP address in the last hour, so the site can slow down guessing. They expire automatically.
